The CPN(M) International Command held a press conference Wednesday, in which they said that they will form relationships with other countries on an equal footing, including neighborhood giants India and china. CP Gajurel, chief of the international command of the CPN(Maoist) said at the press conference in Kathmandu on Wednesday, “We would like to form equal and cooperative relations with all the international governments and the Maoists all over the world” (quote in translation from Nepali).
The CPN (Maoist) won’t break their relationship with RIM and COMPOSA either. “We would like to improve relations between India and China. Nepal will play positive role to improve relations between India and China.” Said Gajurel “Old treaties should be broken and new ones should be made in the new scenario; the 1950 treaty which has been signed between Nepal and India should be broken and rewritten.”
This is the first time the Maoist international command held a press conference and publicized their foreign policy. He said that after the CA poll, the monarchy will be thrown from the country and a democratic republic will be finally established. The Maoists will get majority of the people’s mandate and will compose the government in Nepal, he said to the reporters. He criticized the activities of the United states. He said that when they enter the interim legislature, the US will be compelled to legally recognize them.
